Higher Education or for Skilled Persons ?
Hi Everyone,
I know people feel sad when they heard about that Sikkim Manipal University Distance Education is not approved for immigration purpose, like Australia.
Few months ago, on June 2015, a Sikkim High Court ordered in favor of students who had completed or pursuing distance education programmes from sikkim manipal university studies centers across the India and abroad.
On the validity of degrees, the court said those who had completed their course before 2011 - 2012; and those who started their course before 2011 - 2012; and those who enrolled for the programmes any day after 22 Feb 2013 to till 26th June 2015.
I am very thankful for the students who took this case to Sikkim High Court are PRALHAD , PRADIP, SURESH and RASHMI. They completed their cources from SMU study centres kathmandu, Nepal.
The Final Details about whose degree is protected:
- Students who began their distance education programme prior to the academic session 2011-12 but completed the course afterwards.
- Students who were admitted to the distance education programmes from February 22, 2013, to June 26, 2015.
- As admitted by SMU in Sikkim HC, they put a freeze on admissions from October 25, 2012. Any admission from October 25, 2012, to February 22, 2013, is thus questionable.

ReplyDeleteI have a degree in which it is written the examinations were held from Nov 2011 to Apr 2013. As it is written Prior to 2011-2012 in courts verdict so does this mean I am covered or not
ReplyDeleteJust check your enrolled date, if you enrolled your course before 2011 - 2012 session so you'll be safe.
DeleteAnd if your enrolment session is 2011-2012, so you need to detailed check with the court order or consult with a legal person.
In my certificate its written, exam held between Feb 2011 and May 2014. So is my enrollment session before 2011-2012? Is my degree safe
